The Benefits of Integrated Programme (IP) in Singapore
Students who take part in IP will enjoy greater flexibility in their learning. They will also benefit from a more personalized curriculum, as well as access to a wider range of courses than those available under the conventional school model.
Initially, there were 8 schools in Singapore offering the integrated programme (IP) in the programme’s inauguration in 2004. The number of schools providing integrated programme (IP) has since expanded to 17 schools. Students from IP schools get to skip the high stakes ‘O’ levels exams. With the pressure of O levels taken off their backs, students from IP schools can structure their own learning and see greater opportunities for enrichment classes, cross cultural experiences in the form of overseas exchanges and attachments. This sets IP programme apart from the programmes offered by other mainstream schools
